Singtel Dash Rewards – how to maximise it

In tough times such as this ongoing Covid-19 situation, maximising our dollar is key. For example, I have stopped buying items at full price (unless I urgently need it), and if possible, will combine my spend with reward programmes to get more value from my purchase.

One such programme is the recently launched Dash Rewards on mobile wallet Singtel Dash. Through this, Dash users can earn points on all online and offline payments (modes accepted: QR code or virtual Visa credit card) and even overseas remittance to redeem rewards. These rewards include Singtel mobile services, grocery, dining, retail and lifestyle vouchers at popular brands. If you’re already an existing Singtel Dash user, you’ll be pleased as punch to note that the app has also seen a refresh — to incorporate the new features and for a better user experience.

There’s also a new tie-up with Fave, and there are limited-time promotions to help Singtel Dash users accelerate their reward points. We’ve got some tips of our own on how to maximise your Singtel Dash Rewards, so that you can continue stretching your dollar, promotional period or not.

1. Earn rewards at over 72,000 merchant points islandwide

With the refreshed Dash and its all-new Dash Rewards programme, you can now earn Dash reward points for both online and offline purchases at 60,000 in-store merchant points islandwide and unlimited e-commerce options. With Dash’s new tie-up with Fave, this adds 12,000 brands islandwide to this list for a total of 72,000 options islandwide.

Tip: Online spend via Dash’s Virtual Visa will also earn you Dash reward points, so be sure to use the Dash Visa to pay for your online shopping! For physical stores, if you’re not a fan of scanning QR codes (SafeEntry overdose?) to pay at in-store merchants, you can also use Dash’s Virtual Visa to pay. Simply click on the Visa card in your app (pictured above) to copy your 16 digit card number to make payments online or add it to your device’s e-wallet for easy access, and every dollar spent on your purchases at eligible merchants — both online and offline — will earn you Dash reward points. Whoa.

2. Go on, double-dip like a boss

Back in the day, “double-dipping”, AKA earning points or rewards from two programmes was largely frowned upon, and only those savvy enough to find loopholes could double-dip.With Dash Rewards, you’re actually able to earn double the perks without even breaking a sweat. We mentioned earlier the tie-up with Dash and Fave. So if you’re making a purchase at a Fave merchant (there are 12,000+ islandwide, so it’s highly likely you will encounter a Fave merchant easily), you earn BOTH Dash reward points and up to 20% Fave cashback with each transaction. Woohoo! Some popular Fave merchants to maximise your dollar at include:

  • Poke Theory, known for its Haiwaiian cubed poké rice bowls
  • Burger+, for Korean-inspired gourmet burgers, Korean fried chicken, milkshakes and more
  • Saboten, for fantastic tonkatsu (juicy, deep-fried pork cutlets)
  • Twelve Cupcakes
  • IUIGA (stylish and high quality home and living products)

I know of some reward programmes where the rewards are nothing you’d actually use, or applicable only at merchants that are too far from your home. With Dash Rewards, the wide catalogue of rewards features over 70 popular merchants islandwide, such as Singtel hi! Card, Grab vouchers, Cold Storage, Best Denki, Adidas, Gojek, Razer, Robinsons, Zalora, Sephora and more — meaning there’s something for everyone.

3. Level up your tier for up to 6X reward points

From now to 31 Dec 2020, Dash is offering double the reward points on eligible transactions. Here’s what it looks like:

As a Dash user, you start off in the Silver tier with no minimum spend required, which earns you 2 points per dollar spent*. As you progress to the Gold and Platinum tiers respectively, you net 4 and 6 points per dollar spent respectively. To move up to Gold from Silver, you just need to spend at least $50 a month on Singtel Dash. That’s easy peasy for most of us, considering one cup of bubble tea easily costs about $5. Maybe you regularly grab buns from BreadTalk for breakfast or take taxis to meetings? That’s at least $15-$25 a month right there. Plus, when you remit money overseas via Singtel Dash, you will also earn 100 reward points per remittance, regardless of the amount.I think it’s also fair that Singtel Dash also “gives chance” since our spending may fluctuate from month to month. If you’re upgraded to the next membership tier, your membership status will remain valid for the next 6 months, even if you don’t quite manage to hit the monthly spend in the following month (just make sure you hit the required monthly spend once every 6 months to maintain your membership tier).Tip: Try and get to the Platinum membership tier as soon as possible to maximise the double point promotions — once you hit that tier, you can earn 6 points per dollar* till end-2020 (remember there’s double the perks with Fave cashback as well)! It’s free to join Dash to start earning Dash reward points and get more bang for your buck. Find out more about Dash and download the app.*Exclusions: Transactions for Singtel bill payment, donations to charity organisations, top-up to Dash accounts, payments to another Dash account, payments to Etiqa Insurance Pte. Ltd., payments to Great Eastern General Insurance Limited, cashout and adjustments made for refunded transactions. Related articlesHere’s an Easy Way for Anyone to Grow Their Savings with up to 2% p.a. — Capital GuaranteedSingtel Prepaid SIM: How to Buy & Top Up Online, Plus Exclusive PromosWhy GOMO is The Only $20 SIM Only Plan You Should Get The post 3 Ways to Maximise Your Singtel Dash Rewards appeared first on the MoneySmart blog.
