Beautiful Boutique & Accessories, a new women’s clothing store, has opened in the heart of Haymount.
The business, which relocated from Wilmington Highway to Broadfoot Avenue, has been open in the district since Aug. 28.
“I’m just a Southern girl trying to sell clothes,” owner Jena Faircloth said Thursday from the store. “I’m just trying to make women look beautiful.”

Beautiful Boutique has its roots in an online business that began in December in Faircloth’s home. She said it was something that she had always wanted to do.
The 39-year-old Faircloth also works as office manager for husband Tony’s Trinity Plumbing Co. on Wilmington Highway. She initially used part of the building to sell earrings and tops and had even planned a grand opening for her side business.

But like it has done to so many small businesses, the onset of the coronavirus in March forced her to cancel the ribbon-cutting.
The brick-and-mortar Beautiful Boutique then closed until further notice, and Faircloth returned to her online operation.
Again, because of COVID-19, Faircloth ended up doing a soft opening after setting up shop in Haymount in the Skenteris Building Offices at 106 Broadfoot Ave., Suite B.
Previously, the space was home to a hair salon. In June, Faircloth found the place was available for rent and began renovation for her store.

“I always wanted to have a little boutique with refurbished furniture and clothing and jewelry,” she said. “I haven’t branched off into furniture. … I wanted a store. I didn’t just want online. I wanted to mingle with people. I’m a talker. I want to be sociable.”
The 1,200-square-foot women’s wear boutique carries clothing, jewelry, accessories and shoes. Brands include Umgee, Andree By Unit, Heimish USA, Judy Blue Jeans, Kori and Bella + Canvas tees.
She said that her company is faith-based and carries faith-based T-shirts, as well.

“I want to sell a wide variety of clothing that is comfortable but stylish,” Faircloth said. “When I go into a lot of boutiques, it’s all one style. My goal is to make women look beautiful. Bring in things that are still cute but comfortable.”
Sizes for apparel range from small to 3X, according to Faircloth.
Personally, Faircloth is keen on brim hats, bellbottom pants and bubble-sleeve tops.
“I think it’s cute,” she said. “I like things that have a flow.”
There’s a bit of bohemian in this affable Stedman native, and some of the women’s apparel reflects a hippish ’70s look.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Come November and December, for the holidays, hours on Thursday and Friday will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Gift wrapping will be available.
Beautiful Boutique offers something for every woman, Faircloth said.
“I want a place where you can walk in and have something for the night out, something for casual dining in town and something for the sports mom — like a hoodie on the field. Not just branded for one particular style.
“It’s just a wide variety of clothing.”
